The best way to contact us is to e-mail ielts@algonquincollege.com. We will respond to your email within 1 business day.
How do I order additional Test Report Forms?
If you took an IELTS on Computer test, you can make a request to have your results sent through your IDP account. Requests made this way are free of charge.
If the institution you would like to send your results to does not appear, please contact us at ielts@algonquincollege.com. Additional fees may apply if the institution requires a paper copy of your results.
If you took an IELTS on Paper test, the cost for additional Test Report Forms is $20 (plus applicable postage). Contact us at ielts@algonquincollege.com to make a request.
Requests are normally processed within 5 business days.
What time does the test start and how long is it?
You will receive an email 3 days before the test with information about where to go and what to bring. It is your responsibility to contact us if you do not receive this email. Please check your “junk”, “spam” or “bulk” email folders.
Test Day Schedule
8:30: Candidates arrive at Registration area. During the check-in process, we will take your photo and scan your finger. These security measures are requirements of IELTS and must be done prior to taking the test.
8:45: Candidates arriving after this time will not be permitted to sit the test. No late-comers are allowed into the test room once the test has begun and no refunds will be given.
9:00: The Listening, Reading and Writing components of the test begin and will finish at approximately 12:00.
12:10- 18:00 Speaking tests will be scheduled at 20-minute intervals on the day of the test. Please note that the speaking test time you selected during registration may change. (** In rare cases, it may be necessary to schedule Speaking tests 7 days before or after the Test Day. You will be notified by phone or email if this should happen.)
What should I bring to the test?
- Your valid identification: Passport or Permanent Resident Card (You MUST have the identification you used when registering in hand to sit the exam. If you come without your passport/PRC, you will not be permitted to sit any component of the exam and there will be no refund.)
- Optional: water in a clear bottle (with label peeled off)
Please note: No cell phones are permitted in the test room. If you bring a cell phone or other electronics into the test room, you will be immediately disqualified and asked to leave the test. No refund will be given. There will be a safe place to secure your belongings while you write the test, but Algonquin College is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please leave all valuables at home.
Can I get a refund or change my test date?
Refunds and Transfers
We can offer you a refund of your test fee or a transfer to a new date (within 3 months) as long as we receive enough notice. We require at least one week’s notice for an IELTS on Computer test. If you have a last-minute emergency, we can offer a refund or transfer if you provide documentation supporting your absence. A list of what is considered “Acceptable, Serious Cause” is noted below.

Last minute requests for refunds/transfers are only considered under special circumstances, such as the ones listed below:
- Serious Illness — hospital admission or serious injury (must be accompanied by a medical note from a registered Medical Doctor)
- Loss or Bereavement — death of a close family member (must be accompanied by a death certificate)
- Hardship/Trauma — victim of a crime, victim of a traffic accident (must be accompanied by a police report)
- Military Service — enlistment (must be accompanied by a letter from government)
You must submit:
- Documented proof of the above (for example, a doctor’s note)
- A completed Request for Refund or Test Date Transfer Application Form
There is a $75 administrative fee for all refunds or transfers.
Can I see my results online?
You will be able to view the results from your IELTS on Computer test through your IDP account. You will receive a notification when your results have been released.
Please note: Results cannot be released by email or telephone.
Enquiry on Results
If you feel that you should have scored higher on your IELTS test, you can request an Enquiry on Results (EOR). You can make a request for an EOR through your IDP account.
You must make this request within 6 weeks of your test date. The fee for a re-mark is $170, which is refunded to you if the results are returned in your favour. You will be sent a link to pay the fee online once your request has been submitted.
An Enquiry on Results can take up to 21 days from the time the request is received.
If any component is re-marked higher than the original score, you will receive a full refund of the re-mark fee.

- A bank draft, certified cheque or money order for $170, made out to Algonquin College
- Request a link to our secure online system, where you can pay by Visa or MasterCard
