Beyond Brightspace Essentials

What can I learn about my learners through Brightspace, and how can I help them to regulate their own learning? Come and exchange ideas about how class progress and content reports could influence your instructional approach, how quizzes can be used to gather evidence of learning and allow students to discover their own knowledge gaps, and how eRubrics can be deployed to help students to understand the success criteria and work towards mastery.

Brightspace Grades

Grades for all Algonquin courses should now be regularly updated within Brightspace, in line with college policy AA42. Come and check-in regarding your grade setup, with opportunities to:

• Compare what you see with what your students can see
• Determine whether you are entering grades in the most efficient way
• Clarify how your ‘final’ grade is being calculated and displayed
• Explore the Quick Eval tool, a potential time-saver for your grading workflow

The Zoom Classroom in Brightspace

This session will provide visions for how you can use Zoom to enhance and extend learning in your Brightspace course. Learn about different scheduling and set-up options, how to share and annotate files, hold video conferences, poll users, split the group into breakout rooms and host guest speakers.
