Work-Integrated Learning
A hands-on approach is emphasized when developing mobile sites and applications. Students will work together in teams to simulate a work environment and in the final semester, will work on a mobile solution for a real-world client.
Students will also have the opportunity to participate in two paid cooperative education (co-op) work terms and gain valuable work experience and contacts within industry.
Student Success and Testimonials
“The reason I chose my program is that it not only allows developers to learn how the design works, but also it helps designers to learn a lot from scratch on how to build an actual application. Another reason was that it didn’t require any technical skills in any specific software.”
-Arshpreet Singh, Student
“I chose the Mobile Application Design and Development program because of my passion for technology and interest in building user-friendly, impactful mobile apps. The program offers a perfect blend of design and development skills, which aligns with my goal of becoming a well-rounded mobile app developer. I was especially drawn to how the curriculum balances creativity with technical expertise, and how it prepares students for the evolving demands of the mobile industry.”

Algonquin College was my second home. I got a job in the construction lab since I started the program and later as a program assistant, making me part of the team the whole time. Both roles, student and mentor, allowed me to see its deeper professionalism and dedication of the staff.
