What are the differences between Visual Development for Entertainment and Creative Industries Management?

Visual Development educates students in the art of visual storytelling, practical skills, and technology for creative entertainment industries. Creative Industries Management prepares students with leadership and business management skills tailored to creative industries. Both programs teach skills needed to move creative ideas from concept through to production successfully.

Can I take both Visual Development for Entertainment and Creative Industries Management?

Many students may want to take these complementary programs over two years to gain both skillsets. There is an option for one course exemption in this case of which students can take advantage.

What pathway opportunities are there after Visual Development for Entertainment?

Visual Development for Entertainment has articulation agreements with the 3-year Animation advanced diploma and the 2-year Illustration and Concept Art diploma program. Students who have demonstrated their achievements in one of these programs can qualify for acceptance to Visual Development for entertainment without the required portfolio.

What careers are available to graduates of Visual Development for Entertainment?

Do I need to have drawing skills prior to taking the program?

Yes, students will require strong fundamentals in drawing and painting, as well as applying them through digital toolsets.

Do I need any equipment prior to starting the program?

  • Students will require a laptop with the specifications listed on our BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) page
  • Drawing tablet – can be any model or make but capable of handling intense digital creative software
  • Can be Mac or Windows
