Gerald Tripp is a series creator, scriptwriter, story editor and line producer for high profile entertainment projects in animation and live action production for multiple formats. Specializing in development from page to screen, he is credited as producer-writer on productions seen around the world. Tripp works with Canada’s top broadcast production executives, creators, actors, animation studios, and executive producers. His recent contracts include the Amberwood-MRV co-production Wolf Joe (TVO, TFO, SRC, Knowledge), The Great Northern Candy Drop (CBC, SRC), and Selling Big (Blue Ant, MRP). After graduating from Algonquin College’s Film Production three-year program in the late 1970s, he progressed from film editor to directorial and key creative roles on such notable animated productions as The Railway Dragon, The Raccoons, and The Nutcracker Prince before creating his own series Hoze Hounds. Tripp has been involved in international co-productions and partnerships with Nat Geo Kids, Universal and Disney. He joined the PAC to help guide Canada’s emerging scriptwriters toward creative success. “The content business in this country constantly seeks fresh talent with new perspectives that reflect a distinctly Canadian experience,” Tripp says. “We are in a position at Algonquin scriptwriting to make a significant contribution to Canada’s culture.”
