Nyle Kelly has travelled widely since graduating from Algonquin College’s Hotel and Restaurant Management program in 1993. He has worked in hotels across North America, including the Banff Springs Hotel and the Chateau Lake Louise. In 1999, Kelly joined Hostar International, a company that helps hoteliers improve their services and reduce cost. That job involved him in more than 20 hotel openings across North America and Asia. In 2003, he returned to Ottawa to join Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata North’s vibrant high-tech community, where he was soon promoted to Director of Guest Services and then Director Operations. In 2016, he completed his Executive MBA at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management. One year later, Kelly was named the General Manager of the Brookstreet Hotel and Marshes Golf Club where he holds this position today. “As a graduate of Algonquin College, and now a leader in the hospitality industry here in Ottawa, it is important to stay connected with the College and provide feedback and guidance to those programs supporting our Industry,” he says. “The PAC’s main role is to keep industry and the College connected, and ensure there is an active network not just for the faculty but for the students during and after their studies.”
