Philip Cole is owner and chief designer of Creating Now, an Ottawa-based design studio focused on the creation and implementation of brand identity systems. From 1996 to 2016, Cole served as Director of Corporate Brand Identity Management and maintained continuity across four mergers and acquisitions: Newbridge, Alcatel, Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia. He was also principal of Enth Degree (1989-1996), providing graphic design services to such organizations as the Canadian Space Agency, Canadian Museum of Civilization, CKBY radio, and other independent professionals in related photography, audio/visual, hospitality and professional service industries. An honours graduate of Sheridan College (Graphic Design), with special training at Kaospilot, Denmark (The Art and Craft of Facilitating Learning Spaces), he has taught three semesters of brand identity classes at Algonquin College. Through his relationships with program coordinators and teachers of the Graphic Design Department, he learned about the PAC program and agreed to join. “I could see the mutual benefits to the College, students and regional industries through regular conversations and feedback about this program and its outcomes. I believe PACs provide real-world contemporary insights. These ensure the College appreciates the needs and opportunities for graduates, and provides the best learning programs.”
