At The Urban Gourmet Co, we are dedicated to providing high-quality extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic products to our customers in a fun and welcoming tasting-room environment. We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Brand Ambassador who can seamlessly blend sales associate responsibilities with innovative marketing strategies to contribute to our growth and brand presence. This position is temporary/ seasonal from the late spring to early fall, with the potential to become permanent depending on several factors.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who is customer-oriented, has a creative mind for executing marketing activities, and is willing to learn all about our products and their benefits.

— Key Responsibilities: —

– Greet and assist customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, providing guidance on product selection and facilitating on-site tastings.

– Meet and exceed sales targets through effective product knowledge, customer engagement, and upselling techniques.

– Process transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining a positive and seamless customer experience.

– Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring repeat business and positive word-of-mouth referrals.

– Keep track of product updates, promotions, and industry trends to convey accurate information to customers.

– Develop and implement creative online marketing strategies to enhance the brand’s online presence and drive customer engagement.

– Curate content for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, aligning with the brand’s tone and aesthetic.

– Generate innovative ideas for online campaigns, promotions, and collaborations to increase brand awareness and attract new customers.

— Hours: —

30 hours/week ( 5 shifts per week: 2 full-days, one 5 hour evening shift and one day per weekend)
Our summer business hours are Tuesday – Friday, 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 4 pm. We will be open late one evening per week until 7 pm in the summer.

— Qualifications: —

– Proven experience in retail sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

– Background in marketing or related field, with hands-on experience in creating and implementing online marketing campaigns (we can even consider your personal social media as part of your experience if it is something you wish to share as an example.)

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

– Creativity and innovation in developing engaging content and marketing strategies.

– Familiarity with social media platforms and their respective best practices.

– Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

— Education and Experience: —

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in marketing or a related field is a plus. Previous experience in retail sales and marketing preferred but not mandatory.
