Job Description
If you are seeking an exciting new employment opportunity, Burchat Homes is looking for individuals to join our team of professionals in various roles. With another busy season ahead, and one of our most exciting projects ahead, we are looking to fill full-time, permanent, year-round positions. We currently have positions available for summer students, experienced carpenters, apprentices, and labourers. Burchat Homes is an established company that has been serving Barry’s Bay and surrounding areas since 2011. We specialize in custom waterfront homes and cottages, and renovations. Our reputation is built on quality and integrity, and we maintain a positive, fast-paced work environment. Our office is located in Barry’s Bay, and our service area in within 30 minutes of the surrounding area.
This position is permanent full time. The position is open to anyone who is currently working on an apprenticeship, and interested in becoming part of a team that develops custom lakeside properties. Must have basic skills and knowledge when it comes to carpentry, and be willing to work with a variety of tools, materials, and applications. Willingness to complete apprenticeship and grow into leadership role would be considered an asset.
Applicants must:
• Provide their own personal protective gear
• Provide a tool belt with hand tools
• Have a good attitude, and contribute positively to team morale
• Be able to get to and from work on time, on a daily basis
• Must be reliable, and willing to learn
• Must be able to follow detailed instructions
• Must be able to work as an individual and as part of a team
Duties will include, but may not be limited to:
• General construction in the residential field on all aspects of carpentry
• Cutting and assembling
• Managing timelines and materials
• Site cleanup and organization
• Communicating with supervisor
• Working at heights, on scaffold, and on elevated work platforms
• Must be able to work safely and identify hazards
• Working alongside carpenters and other trades
Rate of pay will be negotiated at time of interview, based on experience.
