Job Description

The CRC is a multi-service community hub located in Killaloe. We are working toward a future in which everyone has access to the connections, opportunities, supports and services they need to live full lives in vibrant, sustainable rural communities.

The Direct Accountability Program is an alternative to prosecution for eligible individuals over the age of 18 who have been charged with criminal offences such as theft, mischief, and domestic violence. The program involves accused people being held accountable through community-based sanctions.

Responsibilities:
• Attend at First Appearance Court (in-person and/or virtual)
• Receive referrals from the crown
• Confirm the accused person’s understanding of the program, acceptance of responsibility and willingness to complete sanctions
• Complete a brief assessment
• Assign sanctions, monitor and report on the progress and completion of the sanctions

Qualifications:
• Degree or diploma in a related field or relevant workplace experience
• Experience working with equity deserving populations with an anti-racist, anti-oppression perspective
• Strong administration, organizational and reporting skills with demonstrated ability to work independently
• The ability to work in both French and English is an asset
• Reliable vehicle and valid Ontario Driver’s License
• Clear vulnerable sector check necessary for successful applicant
