Job Description
LOCATION: Mary Street Education Centre, Pembroke
All schools within the Renfrew County District School Board
HOURS PER WEEK: 35 hours per week, 10 months/year
SUMMARY: The Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to support students across our district, as an integral member of our multidisciplinary team. The Speech Language Pathologist role involves the provision of assessments, programming and diagnostic therapy and treatment services to service the needs of children in the Renfrew County District School Board with a variety of communication disorders. The SLP reports to the Principal of Specialized Services and is accountable to the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
RATE OF PAY: Annual salary grid range is $77,833 – $96,172
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Registration and good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
• Clinical experience with assessment, evaluation, intervention and treatment of speech-language disorders
• Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
• Training in Assistive and Augmentative Communication (AAC)
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning (as per CASLPO guidelines)
• Previous experience in a school board setting considered an asset
Duties:
• Conduct assessments and evaluations of students’ articulation, language, and functional communication needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized communication programs
• Provide clinical supervision to Communicative Disorders Assistants (CDAs)
• Collaborate with educators, support staff, and external agencies
• Deliver in-service training and staff professional development
• Maintain accurate documentation including reports, chart notes, and progress summaries
• Remain up-to-date with Ministry of Education curriculum and Board policies
The vacation periods for this position are over Christmas Break, March Break and approximately 8 weeks during the months of July and August.
