Job Description
Position Summary:
The Law Clerk provides essential legal and administrative support to lawyers in various areas of law, including (but not limited to) wills and estates, real estate, family, and corporate law. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing files independently with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and prepare legal documents, correspondence, and court forms
Manage and organize client files, both electronic and physical
Conduct legal research and prepare summaries as needed
Communicate with clients, court staff, and other professionals
Monitor file progress and manage deadlines and limitation periods
Assist with real estate closings, estate administration, or corporate filings as applicable
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of conduct
Qualifications:
Law Clerk diploma or certificate from a recognized institution
Prior experience in a law firm or legal department preferred
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency with legal software (e.g., CosmoLex, Teraview, Closer, DivorceMate, Estateably)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
