Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a mature, dedicated and detail-oriented Gardener to work independently or within a team environment to maintain and enhance the beauty of outdoor landscapes. This role involves working to care for plants, lawns, and garden features, ensuring that all grounds are healthy, vibrant, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and landscape maintenance, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
This is a seasonal position running from May 19 – October 9, 2026. Once the probation period has been met, (1 month), this position will renew annually.
Closing date to receive applications is April 15, 2026.
Responsibilities
• Planting, watering, fertilizing flowers, and other plants
• Edging beds
• Using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruners to perform various gardening tasks
• Operating power tools including trimmers, blowers and lawn mowers to manage landscape areas
• Performing landscape maintenance tasks such as mulching and weed control
• Monitoring plant health and identifying pests or diseases for appropriate action
• Ensuring all grounds are clean, safe, and well-organized
• Supervising a summer student
• Own transportation
Skills
• Proficiency with hand tools for gardening tasks
• Knowledge of operating tools used in landscape maintenance
• Knowledge of gardening principles and plant care techniques
• Ability to perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, and pruning
• Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions
• Attention to detail to ensure high-quality landscape presentation
• Ability to follow safety guidelines when handling tools and equipment
