Job Posting: Operations Summer Student

Day shift. 7:00 – 15:30, Monday to Friday. 5 – 8-hour shifts.
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary – length is negotiable and maybe extended
Reports To: Operations Manager
Rate of Pay – $21.50 / hour

Position Summary:
1. Provide production and continuous improvement support to the manufacturing team
2. Support and assist with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives
3. Develop and support a 5S workplace organization across multiple work centers
4. Support process improvement activities to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety
5. Assist with the implementation of a new Safety Data Sheets (SDS) program
6. Support the development, tracking, and reporting of specific KPIs
7. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Supervisor

Qualifications:
1. Must be able to read and interpret Induspac drawings and specifications
2. Computer proficiency required – MS Office Suite and willing to learn new software
3. Ability to use basic measurement devices in Metric and Imperial units (e.g., tape measure), and convert between measurement systems
4. Must be Self driven, organized, detailed and quality oriented with ability to work with minimal supervision
5. Must demonstrate safe work ethics
6. Must have experience in 5S, KPI’s and Lean Manufacturing as well as Safety Date Sheet storage programs
7. Have a positive, engaged contributor style and entrepreneurial attitude with ability to work independently
8. Enrollment in, returning to, or graduating from a post-secondary Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering program.

Working Conditions: The position requires continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside, work around machinery.
