Holiday Letter Writing Campaign

There are many vulnerable people, including seniors, in our community who are feeling anxious or expressing an increased need for connection at the present time.

Small gestures can make a huge impact. You can write an encouraging note today to a senior alone in their long-term care home who needs an uplift. We will collect these notes and share them with these individuals. You can write your note by yourself or with family or classmates.

Please take a few minutes to write a note about yourself, crack a joke, offer a riddle, or otherwise share some local love. Our advice: just pretend it's a conversation! What are the kinds of things you would say to a stranger?

Please submit your letter by Friday, December 18. Before you send - here are some guidelines:

• • Embrace your creativity! We encourage you to make your letters detailed, thoughtful and heartfelt.
• • These notes are for people of all faith groups and backgrounds. Please refrain from including anything religious in your letters.
• • Be kind. This is a one-way exchange, and you will not receive a letter back. Please remember no reciprocation is a part of this act of kindness so the recipients don't feel obligated to respond.

  This will be used as a sign-off a the bottom of your letter. Please include all names of those contributing to this letter.

  Please share which program(s) all contributors are in so that the recipient gets to know a little about you.
