2021 Cross College Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2021 Cross College Awards for graduating students and recent graduates. (Nominees must have graduated in Spring 2020 or Fall 2020, or be graduating in Winter 2021.) The application deadline is April 30, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. A student or grad may apply for a College Award(s), or may be nominated by a fellow student, by a member of the faculty, or by others in the College community.

There are four Cross College Awards:

  • The Robert C. Gillett Leadership Award for exemplary volunteer leadership which contributes to the overall Algonquin College Student experience. (one award available per campus) – (A certificate and monetary prize are awarded to a graduate in a degree, diploma or certificate program from the Ottawa, Pembroke, and Perth campuses to recognize graduates who demonstrated exemplary volunteer leadership which contributed to the overall Algonquin College Student experience.)
  • The President Rosser Prize for outstanding leadership and participation in student activities and maintaining a good standard of scholastic achievement in studies.
    (A certificate and monetary prize are awarded to a graduate in a degree, diploma, or certificate program whose performance within the College community has been outstanding in terms of leadership and participation in student activities and who has maintained a good standard of scholastic achievement in their studies.)
  • The International House Prize awarded to the best all-round graduating student in a degree, diploma, or certificate program attending Algonquin College on a student visa.
    (A certificate and monetary prize are awarded to the best all-round graduate in a degree, diploma, or certificate program, who attended Algonquin College on a student visa. Selection is based on academic achievement and active participation in extracurricular activities within the College community.)
  • The Steve Stafford Memorial Continuing Education Award for demonstrating unusual or extra effort while having completed a certificate, diploma, or degree program as a part-time student, or having completed the majority of their credential as a part-time student.
    (A certificate and monetary prize are awarded to a graduate in a degree, diploma, or certificate program who demonstrated unusual or extra effort while having completed their program as a part-time student, or having completed the majority of their credential as a part-time student.)
