Options 2026 is happening on Wednesday, May 27

The award-winning Options Skilled Trades Career Fair program has introduced youth in Renfrew County to skilled trades career opportunities for almost two decades.

This great hands-on event returns to the Pembroke Memorial Centre on Wednesday, May 27, as we showcase skilled trades careers and students compete in culinary, welding, carpentry, automotive, and hairstyling.

In 2007, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities recognized Options with an Award of Excellence for its grassroots effort to encourage more young people to pursue apprenticeship training to address the province’s critical shortage of skilled trades workers. Since then, hundreds of students who participated in Options have gone on to successful careers in the skilled trades.

Special thanks to Renfrew County District School Board, Renfrew County Catholic District School Board, Conceil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario, Écoles catholiques Centre-Est, City of Pembroke, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Home Depot, Ontario Power Generation, Dual Credit School College Work Initiative and Junior Achievement for joining us as sponsors for this year’s Options event.

Visiting schools: Some exhibitors at the Options Skilled Trades Career Fair require a waiver to interact with their displays. Please complete the Waiver to Participate prior to attending the event and bring it with you.
