Pembroke Campus Maintenance Staff
We often take for granted the very people that deserve our most gratitude. I want to nominate our maintenance staff, Gerry Samson, Sheila Dumas, Lawrence Gravelle, Chad Lafreniere, Dwight Stiles and Wayne Jones for a Presidents Star Award.
All year long I watch them diligently clean this campus from top to bottom. Windows, walls, tracked in mud, toilets, faucets, stripping & waxing floors, cleaning, repairing and replacing. Their team work and work ethic are to be admired. As an experienced worker I ‘ve worked in many places over the years and rarely have I seen a group work so hard at maintaining such a high level of facility cleanliness as our maintenance staff.
And what’s even more important – is their attitude. Whether you are asking for a picture to be hung or a Job Fair to be set up there isn’t a task that is too great or too small. They always have a smile, a pleasant response and a helping hand. They are first here in the morning and last to leave at night and always with a pleasant “Good Morning” as you arrive or “Have A Good Night” as you leave.
Each year for our Health Fair they come in early for me, sweep and mop the floor in the Commons area, set up all the tables and chairs and when it’s over they are right there to totally break it down. In the winter, it’s not uncommon for them to brush off the company car, start it and have it warmed up for you. They take care of all the plants – even the ones you have brought in on your own.
We are proud of our new campus and part of this great new working environment can be attributed to the care and high standards of our maintenance staff. You don‘t go unnoticed! Congratulations!
