Colin Bonang

Risk Management

Algonquin College’s long-serving Director of Risk Management, Colin Bonang, was presented with the President’s Star Award December 7, as he prepares to retire from his position.

Bonang and his team have worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of Algonquin College’s employees and learners before and especially during the pandemic. He has been responsible for operational security, occupational health and safety, emergency and risk management, corporate insurance, and legal affairs.

Algonquin College President and CEO, Claude Brulé, presented the award – citing Bonang’s more than three decades of experience in institutional and corporate security management for post-secondary and healthcare institutions. His dynamic leadership, deep knowledge, and strategic guidance on matters of security and safety – coupled with his calm presence – have been relied upon daily.

The President’s Star Award is presented to employees who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their role within the College community; regularly and consistently demonstrate outstanding service; and/or perform acts of significant merit that model our shared commitment to student success and the College’s values of Caring, Learning, Integrity and Respect.

Congratulations Colin!
