I am privileged to nominate Media & Design’s Student Success Specialist Deborah Buck for the President’s Star.

I have worked alongside Deborah for the past several years. She helped me develop my second academic coach position in Media & Design and gave me tips on how to best coach our students. Deborah has been a role model for both staff and students alike.

Ever since working with Deborah, I have been touched by the care and commitment she brings to her work every day. I have seen her maintain her resolve in the face a hectic schedule. I have seen her listen with care and compassion when students felt misunderstood. I have seen her work past her office hours in the effort to stay atop a growing caseload.

Deborah brings dignity, respect and compassion to a department filled with a group of emerging artists desperate to tell their story. On behalf of Media & Design students and staff, we thank Deborah for her strength, creativity and dedication to her cause.
