One of Marilyn’s key strengths is her ability to champion change! Change is a constant in this environment and Marilyn’s approach is to embrace it and utilize today’s technology to make change happen in a positive manner.

Marilyn consistently shows her dedication to enhancing client service through continuous improvement of procedural techniques and technological processes. Marilyn has been involved with several special projects that have measurably increased efficiencies within the Registrar’s Office and the College in general.

These projects include:

1. The redesign of the Distance Education registration system taking it from a time-consuming manual process to a completely automated process.

2. The Centre for Continuing and Online Learning (CCOL) online registration system which has resulted in more than a 50% reduction in manual interventions.

3. The Academic Planner which will allow CCOL students to declare into a program offered by CCOL and provide them with the correct version of the Program of Study. As well, the Planner will provide a view, similar to the full-time day “program progression”, that show the courses for the particular program the client is declared into, the courses taken to date, the courses they are registered in and the courses they are required to complete.

Marilyn has given several information sessions to various College departments regarding the Academic Planner and how it will benefit them and the students.

Marilyn’s dedication is evident as she tirelessly takes time to assist and train colleagues on various systems in the interest of refining client service and providing a superior customer experience for all.

Marilyn’s ongoing support through flexibility and approachability provide consistency for her colleagues on a daily basis. Her ability to quickly understand an issue brought to her attention, then investigate the situation and provide a positive resolution in often challenging circumstances continually proves her dedication to client service iin the college community and beyond.
