FAQ – Bachelor of Automation and Robotics (Honours) Pathways

  1. Am I eligible to register for the pathway before completing the bridging courses?
No. The bridging courses (MAT8203, CST8203, and PHY8205) are the prerequisite courses for registration in the Pathway program.
  2. When the bridging courses will be offered?
The bridging courses (MAT8203, CST8203, and PHY8205) will be offered during the Spring 2022 semester.
  3. How can I take the Bridging courses?
You should apply to take the Bridging courses as individual courses. Send your request to the Registrar’s Office to register for the courses.
  4. Are these bridging courses offered only in Spring?
For those who are applying to 6519B or 6519D pathways in the Fall 2022, the bridging courses (MAT8203, CST8203, and PHY8205) are available in the Spring 2022. However, if you are planning to register in the pathway programs next year (starting in Fall 2023), then there is another option for you to take two of the bridging courses (MAT8203 and CST8203) during the Fall and Winter 2022 semesters respectively. And then take the third bridging course (PHY8205) in the Spring 2023.
  5. What happens if I miss the Spring 2022 semester to take the bridging courses?
The program entry will take place in the Fall 2022 semester. If you miss the Spring 2022 to take the bridging courses, you will need to wait for another year to complete them before you can start the program in the Fall 2023.
  6. Can I take the Bridging courses at some other institutions?
You can take the Bridging courses at your home institution, or in other Ontario Colleges. The courses must be equivalent to the Bridging courses to be accounted. If you are planning to take the courses outside Algonquin College, talk to the program coordinator (Chandika Samynathan: samynac@algonquincollege.com) in advance, to make sure the courses are equivalent, and they will be accepted.
