Spiritual Centre Space

The Spiritual Centre is open Monday – Friday, 8:00am-10:00pm

During this time, the Spiritual Centre’s multi-purpose room is open for individuals who would like to pray, meditate, sit in silence, reflect, or reconnect to their inner self.

Temporary Multi-faith Room in E204

We are delighted to announce the opening of our Spiritual Centre 2.0!

Due to an increase in the range of activities we offer, as well as the overall number of students accessing our space, we are pleased to provide a second Spiritual Centre gathering space at E204. This is a temporary measure and is available until September 30, 2024.

Just like our multi-space in E211, this will be for shared usage by student faith groups and will adhere to our Spiritual Centre Policy SA15.

Bookings can be made per semester, (reviewed monthly) by contacting Sue-Anne Hess, Coordinator, at spiritualcentre@algonquincollege.com.

What is Spiritual Counselling?

Spiritual Counselling is a type of counselling that focuses on a person’s spiritual side. In Spiritual Counselling, the emphasis is on dealing with the whole person, assisting the person work towards inner balance and the integration of all dimensions. Spiritual Counselling has an expanded view of life, acknowledges the mystery of this complex world and takes different belief systems, faiths, religions, subconscious and superconscious states of awareness into account, metaphysical experiences, spiritual theology, spiritual presence and higher-self cosmic connections.

People may consider spiritual counselling if they would like to explore or solidify their own personal spiritual beliefs or bring a spiritual element into solving problems in their lives. The purpose of spiritual counselling is to help people to express themselves with inner wisdom, spiritual awareness and personal authenticity and truth, appreciate the beauty of life, realize their calling in life, find positivity in any negative situations, using integrity, spiritual gifts and talents, skills and knowledge. Spiritual counselling can help with personal growth, and it can increase levels of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.
