Project In-Kind: Campus Edition Partnership Launch

Nov 17, 2020 |1:00pm-2:00pm

About Project In-Kind: Project In-Kind is the world’s first global impact movement focused on in-kind giving, with a goal to measure one billion in-kind actions by 2030 to support local communities and to track these impacts on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 SDGs are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address issues such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. With Project In-Kind, participants give time, skills, goods, and other non-cash resources in an effort to help meet the needs of local charities and nonprofits. This partnership with Algonquin College will feature a student ambassador program, virtual events, learning resources, and more to educate, inspire, and engage the post-secondary population.

Become a change leader in your community! Students and employees are invited to join this live presentation and discussion held over Zoom to launch and promote Algonquin College’s partnership with Project In-Kind. This event will feature breakout discussions that motivate and inspire you to take action and get involved, as well as the opportunity to hear from David Schimpky, Director of Secretariat at the Canadian Commission for UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). This short, podcast-style discussion will:

  • Dive into the UN SDGs and why they’re important.
  • Give you the opportunity to pose meaningful questions to the special guest.
  • Demonstrate how you can spark change in your community through actions big and small.
