Addiction Matters because You Matter. As a community, we are all affected by addictions and the more information we have, the more we can support ourselves, our friends, and family. National Addiction Awareness Week (November 16-21) is an opportunity to learn what addiction is, recognize how it affects all of us, how we can help prevent substance abuse harms, and discuss the different forms treatment and recovery.

There will be a series of events taking place throughout this week related to National Addictions Awareness Week.

On November 16 from 11am–1pm, there will be a screening of the film Anonymous People in the AC Hub. This feature documentary film looks at the more than 23 million Americans living in long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. You can also meet Ottawa area supports and get to know how the AC Umbrella Project is making a difference.
