Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) Committee
Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) at Algonquin College is a collaborative, institution-wide approach to attracting, supporting, and graduating students who are well prepared for meaningful careers and lifelong success. SEM aligns enrolment goals with our academic priorities, student success initiatives, and the evolving needs of our communities and labour markets.
This page serves as a resource hub for the College’s SEM work, providing access to tools, strategies, data insights, and examples of how employees across the institution contribute to the student journey, from first inquiry through to graduation and alumni engagement. By sharing information and strengthening our collective understanding of SEM, we support a coordinated approach that advances student success and institutional sustainability.
Your Role in SEM
You play an essential role in building meaningful relationships with students throughout their journey, from their first point of contact to long after they graduate. In essence, everything you do impacts our Strategic Enrolment Management goals.
Our work is directly connected to Algonquin College’s mission to ‘transform hopes and dreams into lifelong success’. When we consider the full student experience, it becomes clear that every department and every employee contributes to that mission. A positive interaction, a timely answer, or a moment of support can help a student feel welcome, confident, and motivated to keep moving forward.
