Mandatory Placement Requirements
To be eligible for field placement as a Developmental Services Worker student, you must complete and submit all required placement documentation. Requirements include:
- Standard First Aid certification
- CPR Level C certification
- Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) certification
- Worker Health and Safety Awareness certification
- Police Records Check for Service with the Vulnerable Sector (PRCSVS)
- Required immunizations and health documentation through ParaMed
ParaMed is the third-party provider responsible for collecting and verifying field placement documentation for the Community Studies department. Students should plan for additional costs associated with completing these requirements.
Students will receive detailed instructions about placement requirements, timelines, and when to begin obtaining documentation in FAM1264: Introduction to the Field of Developmental Services.
Please do not start obtaining placement documentation until you have received instructions in FAM1264.
