Orientation Date and Info

AC Day 1: Veterinary Assistant Session

In order to start the semester off on the right foot, the first day will be a mandatory program orientation to help you get to know the College, your classmates, and your professors. The orientation will include activities such as:

  • Explaining your timetable-term schedule
  • Program requirements
  • Filling out pertinent documents
  • Meet and greet fellow classmates

College orientation activities are planned by the Student Affairs and Orientation Department throughout the day. Please check the orientation website to find the program specific information session time, location and other planned events.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to obtain information about the services and facilities available at the college. You might also take this opportunity to purchase a locker, set up your email account, and purchase your texts and manuals.

Please ensure to come prepared for the day with your computer, paper, pen, login information, AC student card, copy of your WHMIS certificate and copy of your rabies titre result. Meet your VA colleagues and faculty, review your clinical lab schedule and learn about college resources to support your academic journey and success in the VA program.

The information you will receive during this session is essential to your success in the Veterinary Assistant program. In addition to our program session, you are encouraged to take part in AC College-wide workshops, including Brightspace training and events on campus.
