Academic Plan Innovation Fund (APIF) Committee

In Fall 2023, the office of the Senior Vice-President, Academic launched the addition of an Academic Plan Innovation Fund (APIF) and committee to support the implementation process to provide seed funding that encourages idea generation and innovation supporting one or more of the Academic Plan priority objectives. Idea submissions will be placed in the Academic Plan Innovation Fund Central Repository where it will be reviewed by the Academic Plan Innovation Fund (APIF) committee on a monthly basis.

Academic Plan Advisory Council

In Summer 2023, the Academic Plan Working Group (APWG) welcomed the addition of an advisory council. While the Academic Plan Working Group managed the initiation of the project and continues to manage the logistical elements of “planning the plan”, the Academic Plan Advisory Council (APAC) will provide guidance to the SVP Academic and the Consultants during the development process and content of the Academic Plan.

In an effort to ensure that the plan will include collaboration and engagement with the Indigenous communities and partners, Algonquin College is working with Andre O’Bonsawin from Studioeleven17, an Indigenous consulting group dedicated to using research and storytelling to support Indigenous engagement. http://studioeleven17.com/

APAC Terms of Reference

The council will fulfill its purpose and responsibilities in the following ways:

  • Remain informed about the academic planning process through attendance at regular APAC meetings
  • Provide feedback to draft reports and draft Academic Plans
  • Prepare questions and/or points for discussion relevant to the Academic Plan
  • Participate in theme setting days and other special meetings as required
  • Represent their constituency, as applicable,
