Skills students have at the start of co-op work term:
- Standard operating procedures, maintaining lab notebooks, and following Ontario
WHMIS, Canada Biosafety guidelines, OHS guidelines, and different safety procedures based
on BSL regulations - Aseptic technique
- Performing spectrophotometry, titrations, chromatography, standardization of unknowns using
primary and secondary standards - Prepare and process samples
- Isolation and culturing of specific bacterial cells through streak plates, spread plates, and pour
plates - Understand and work within quality systems (ex. ISO17025, GMP)
