Author Agreements

An Author Agreement is a contract between AC Press and the author of a title. The author agrees to let AC Press print and distribute their materials with the understanding of receiving a royalty payment from AC Press in return.

AC Press specializes in print on demand contracts that allow for the printing of existing published works, either in whole or in part, for student use or other educational purposes. The original publisher retains copyright to their material and allows AC Press to reproduce them for students at a cost.

The print on demand model helps to reduce resource costs for learners and it minimizes environmental impact. It’s an ideal solution for publishers who want to avoid mass production, or for courses that require only selected portions of a title.

The royalty amount is set by the author and is based on what they want to make per book sold. It’s up to them and they can make this as high or low as they wish. The payment schedule is quarterly, with approximate dates listed below and detailed in the Author Agreement.
  1. April 1 – June 20: payment date on or about June 30th
  2. July 1 – September 30: payment date on or about October 15th
  3. October 1st– December 15th : payment date on or about December 21st
  4. December 16 – March 31: payment date on or about the last week of March (AC year end)
