More resources

  1. Check out great resources from other Ontario College sites: they operate under the same provincial mandate as Algonquin. Links are provided below for some that are particularly useful:
    • Durham College has excellent suggestions for active learning methods for each of the EES skills ( scroll down for ideas by skill) at their Centre for Academic and Faculty Enrichment site: CAFE
    • George Brown College offers practical suggestions through these links: Modelling EES (short video series) and Grading Students’ Work
  2. The Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO) is funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development to make recommendations for improving higher education. Here are some links relevant to EES learning:
  3. Also from HEQCO:
    • Learning Outcomes Assessment Consortium provides links to specific materials on assessing skills, including e-portfolios (Durham College) and critical thinking (George Brown, Confederation, and Humber Colleges).
  4. Eastern Ontario Colleges’ Aligning and Building Curriculum (ABC) site provides an interesting series of curriculum cases
  5. Curriculum Developers Affinity Group (CDAG) links to a number of Ontario College resource pages for curriculum development.
  6. The ICE Rubrics were developed at Algonquin as an aide to teaching and assessing EES skills.
