Shipping (Bulk and Courier)

Shipping and courier services are available from Central Shipping and Receiving. Algonquin College Central Shipping and Receiving will make best efforts to but cannot guarantee one-hour or same-day deliveries. Therefore it is essential to notify us when such a service has been paid for so that arrangements can be made.Guidelines for Outgoing Courier Shipments:
When there is a requirement for courier services, a Mail Service Inserting Request Form must be completed and attached securely to each outgoing item. Outgoing items received in Central Shipping and Receiving (A182) after 2pm will be processed the following business day. For non-urgent courier requirements, outgoing envelopes may be left in departmental mail locations to be picked up by the daily mail run, with a properly completed Mail Service Inserting Request Form securely attached. If there is a requirement to courier large items or bulk shipments, please contact any of the Central Shipping and Receiving team for special handling.

Central Shipping and Receiving do not offer packing services, but a limited selection of packaging material (bubble wrap, popcorn, packing paper and boxes) is available in A182 for internal use.

UPS is the College’s preferred courier. Unless otherwise specified, all outgoing courier deliveries will be sent by UPS. If an alternate courier company is requested, all arrangements must be made by the requesting department. This includes fully completed waybills, customs documents and pick-up notifications for the courier company. If a courier other than UPS has been selected, it is essential that details of the service purchased by the department is shared with Central Shipping and Receiving to ensure proper handling once received in A182. Couriers will not enter the College so all outgoing pieces must be delivered to Central Shipping Receiving for pick-up.

It must be noted that, should an alternate courier company be chosen, Central Shipping and Receiving will make best efforts to but cannot guarantee one-hour or same day deliveries. It is essential, therefore, to notify Central Shipping and Receiving when such an alternative service has been contracted and paid for so that arrangements can be made.

Bulk shipments that will require special material handling equipment and/or carrier scheduling must be organized with Central Shipping and Receiving in advance. Please be aware that Central Shipping and Receiving have limited physical space and cannot warehouse items for any length of time.
