The Financial Aid team is here to provide you with support and resources over the course of your studies. Each program has an assigned officer you can help answer your questions about:

  • How OSAP works
  • Your submitted documents
  • Updating or changing your OSAP application
  • Your grants and loans
  • Other OSAP problems or financial difficulties

Due to a high volume of questions, we are unable to respond directly to the questions listed below. If your email contains a different question not listed, we will aim to respond within one week.


Common FAQs

1) Can you confirm my enrolment?
ANSWER: We will confirm your enrolment automatically. You do not need to contact us or request the confirmation of enrolment.

2) What is the status of my application and documents?
ANSWER: Any updates will be provided directly in your OSAP portal. We cannot provide progress updates or individual time estimates. Documents can take 6 weeks or more to be processed.

3) Why was my OSAP document denied?
ANSWER: Please check your message centre in your OSAP portal. The reason for the denial will be posted there. Please allow up to 24 hours after the denial for the message to appear.

4) Can you help me apply for OSAP?
ANSWER: We are not able to help you go through the general application with you. However, we are happy to assist with specific questions or issues you encounter as your work through the application yourself.

5) Can I submit my OSAP documents to you by email?
ANSWER: No. OSAP documents should be uploaded directly in your OSAP portal or hard copies delivered to the Registrar’s Office. If you have reached your maximum document uploads in a particular area of your OSAP portal, please upload it under “Optional Documents to Upload ➟ Updates”.

6) What is the deadline to apply for OSAP? Can I apply late or submit documents late?
ANSWR: You can find information about application and document submission deadlines on our website. The Ministry does not allow late OSAP applications.

7) How do I get a legal affidavit for my OSAP application?
ANSWER: There are many options available to you, including:

NEW: All refunds and payments from the College are now issued as e-transfers and sent to the College email (@algonquinlive.com). There will be no more cheques issued. Students are strongly encouraged to set up Interac e-Transfer Autodeposit with the Algonquin College email. Please read here for instructions on how to set it up.
