The Information Security & Privacy team is very happy to announce the start of this year’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month! The College’s theme for 2026 is “Secure Today. Ready Tomorrow.”
The programming you can look forward to throughout the month of October emphasizes the importance of individual responsibility when it comes to keeping ourselves, our online identities, and our data secure. In particular, the resources developed provide guidance on how to recognize and avoid threats, the importance of reporting suspicious activity, and offers best practices around security, password management and account protection.

Pembroke Campus Awareness Booth
The Information Security and Privacy team had a great time at the beautiful Pembroke Campus on October 7th sharing cybersecurity knowledge with learners and staff. Thank you to everyone who visited, and we hope you enjoy your freebies!
Ottawa Campus Awareness Booth
On October 19th the Information Security and Privacy team held another awareness booth at the Ottawa Campus. What a great turnout we had, sharing trivia and fun giveaways with all of our visitors! We had a blast engaging with learners, staff, and faculty about all things cybersecurity.
Tuesday October 20th, Learner Webinar
Held in partnership with Orion, Ontario’s Research and Education Network, attendees were equipped with practical skills to recognize evolving cyber threats, strengthen their defenses, and protect their devices and information. You will learn how to identify and respond to AI-powered scams, secure accounts and digital access, safeguard sensitive data, and report suspicious activity – helping make cybersecurity a shared responsibility across campus. Wednesday October 21st, Employee Webinar
Held in partnership with CDW, attendees were provided with an update on what’s new and evolving in the world of cybersecurity, as well as providing important guidance on current trends in attacks and what that means for Canadians.
