Enhance an Existing IT Solution

Service Description This service is designed to manage and execute requests for enhancements to existing IT solutions. It aims to address specific business needs by improving functionality, performance, and compatibility. This service includes assessing enhancement feasibility, planning, and recommending a solution in alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.
Service Scope The scope of this service includes:

  • Management of requests for modifications or additions to existing custom developed solutions to improve functionality, security, usability, or performance.
  • Management of requests for configuration changes to existing COTS or SaaS solution to improve functionality, security, usability, or performance.
  • Handling of upgrade requests for hosted custom or COTS solutions, including associated infrastructure upgrades.
  • Addressing cases where business needs cannot be met through enhancements or upgrades by requesting partner to initiate the “Recommend a new IT Solution” service.
  • If accepted by the requester, handoff of high-level business requirements and proposed solution to the appropriate implementation team in ITS.

Note: The service does not recommend a specific product or service provider if an RFP might be necessary for procurement. Implementation of the requested or recommended solution is also NOT in scope of this service.

Intended Users Business process owners
Service Requirements The service request should be made using the Solution Enhancement Request Form and include the business need or a problem statement and high-level business requirements. For requests arising from initiatives endorsed by CTC/ICDP/ACET, please use the Strategic Initiative Intake Form.
Service Deliverables ITS Assessment Report: A document detailing feasibility, impact, resource requirements, and estimated timelines, including potential inability to meet business needs through existing solutions. For approved enhancements/upgrades, a plan outlining the execution steps. For cases requiring new solutions, a proposal detailing the proposed solution, benefits, costs, and implementation roadmap.

Solution Enhancement: Delivery of the requested enhancements to meet the business requirements.

Service Performance Levels ITS Assessment Report – 1 month after complete and clear request is received.
