How long is the program?

The Program runs over 12 consecutive months (three 15-week semesters), from September-August. The format is a condensed 2-year Diploma program. The same learning hours are received in 12months/3 semester as a 2 year/4 semester equivalent program.

What will I learn in this program?

Participating in the creation of music videos, factual television, dramatic and documentary productions, you will immerse yourself in the complete workflow of modern digital filmmaking – from production to direction and cinematography to post-production and delivery. Through the creation of original student content and participation in “real world” productions, the program mirrors the experience and expectations of the production industry and prepares you for careers in the film production sector.

What types of courses will this program offer?

The program offers a balance of theory and technical operations courses in Cinematography, Film Theory, Motion Graphics, Editing and Audio Workflow, Production Management, Scriptwriting and more.

Is there any software I need to buy?

The majority of software will be made available to students through the college BYOD program (below), but additional software may be required to keep the program in line with industry best practices.

Do I need to purchase a computer?

You are required to supply and use a mobile learning device that meets minimum hardware specifications. Software needed for the program is included in your tuition fee and will be supplied by the College.
