Diploma and certificate options respond to market demand for employees with Indigenous knowledge

March 31, 2025, Ottawa, ON – Claude Brulé, Algonquin College President and CEO, announced today that registration is now open for learners to apply for the Indigenous Studies diploma and certificate programs for the September 2025 fall academic session.

“Our Indigenous Studies diploma and certificate programs are not only a continuation of Algonquin College’s commitment to reconciliation, but a commitment to develop a better understanding and appreciation of Indigenous Peoples and the issues faced by First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples,” said Brulé. “Launching in Fall 2025, this program for Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners is a comprehensive opportunity for those wishing to find employment in public, private, non-profit and government sectors that engages with Indigenous communities or within Indigenous community organizations and businesses.” Continue reading

Algonquin College Public Relations program celebrates extensive community impact with nearly $600K in fundraising over 40 years

OTTAWA (Wed., March 26, 2025) – Algonquin College’s Public Relations (ACPR) program has had an extensive community impact in the National Capital Region raising nearly $600,000 over r 40 years of student fundraising for a range of community organizations, from the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and CHEO to the Ottawa Network for Education, the Ottawa Food Bank and the African-Canadian Association of Ottawa.

Fundraising with the Winter 2025 cohort is ongoing, with events running until April 3, 2025. The Hope on the Horizon campaign will benefit Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services.

Algonquin College helps build industry connections at Business – Marketing networking event

OTTAWA (March 21, 2025) – On March 19, 2025, 100 graduating full-time students in the Business – Marketing diploma program eagerly gathered for an evening of industry networking at Algonquin College’s Ottawa Campus, creating a buzz of excitement and nerves in Nawapon.

Industry contacts at the event included individuals from Ottawa’s top marketing and sales fields, senior business leaders, and Ottawa entrepreneurs. Of the nearly 60 industry guests, 33 were Algonquin College alumni.

Real Estate Council of Ontario partners with AC to provide real estate education

The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) announced on Thursday, March 6, that Algonquin College will be one of its new real estate registration education partners, with intake beginning in Summer 2025.

Stress and Resilience: Harnessing Wearable Technology and Machine Learning for First Responders at Algonquin College

OTTAWA (Mon., March 17, 2025) – Algonquin College invites you to a micro-net funding announcement to benefit first responders. This initiative will enable pattern recognition and identification and stress indicators through the data analytics and advanced machine learning from wearable devices. The project objectives are to monitor and assess real-time physiological stress indicators and reported stress indicators, develop reliable results to advance field trading and operations in supporting first responders’ resilience and the sustainability of emergency response as a whole.
