Algonquin College hosts successful 8th annual ACCE Industry Networking Event

Ottawa, ON (Feb.19, 2026) – The Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE) welcomed industry professionals, alumni, faculty and learners yesterday evening for the 8th Annual ACCE Industry Networking Event, sponsored by RBC.

Held in Minto Hall at the College’s Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE) at the Ottawa Campus, the event featured a dedicated Industry Partners session followed by a three-hour networking event that connected learners directly with employers from across the construction and related sectors.

More than 50 industry partners participated, hosting booth spaces to showcase their work through promotional materials and demonstrations. More than 400 ACCE learners attended, bringing resumes and engaging in meaningful conversations about career pathways, co-op placements and full-time employment opportunities.

“This event is a powerful example of career-focused learning in action,” said Katherine Root, Dean of ACCE. “By bringing industry into the College, we give learners the chance to build professional networks, understand employer expectations, and take real steps toward launching their careers. At the same time, we are supporting a thriving building and construction trades sector in the region, which relies on the College as a vital source of new talent.”

Over the years, the ACCE Networking Event has become a signature initiative, helping learners secure employment opportunities and strengthen connections between the College and industry.

Here is what some of our partners had to say:

“We have had a wonderful experience at this event. We were here last year and ended up hiring two students from Algonquin’s Cabinetmaking program and they have been absolutely excellent for us. We are really excited to be back this year and meet more students from the program.” Hana Osborn – Marketing and Communications Lead, La Vie En Bois.

“This event has led to direct hires of Algonquin students and success stories for us. Two of the graduates from Algonquin are now second-generation leaders of the firm. One of them will be joining me tonight. It’s great to see that.” Allesandro Guarna, Vice President – MBC

The event remains a learner-led initiative and has been driven by student leadership since its inception, reflecting the collaborative culture within ACCE programs. The evening included welcome remarks from ACCE leadership, light refreshments and industry-sponsored giveaways.
