Your Algonquin College journey could start with up to $5,000 in tuition support

OTTAWA (Jan. 15, 2026) – In the fall of 2025, Algonquin College Victimology student Jessica Glass was presented with $5,000 towards her tuition after being selected as the winner of the College’s annual tuition contest.
“Winning the contest is really crazy. It’s really going to take a lot of stress off everything for me. I’m going to be able to be more involved in the community and I don’t have to worry about anything financially. I’m just really excited to start this new chapter of my life,” said Glass.
The contest, which has been running since 2016, is open to domestic applicants* looking to start their program in the 2026-2027 academic year.
“My ambition is to take a more hands-on approach to my studies and work with vulnerable populations to help them thrive,” said Glass.
For winners like Glass, the contest provides financial support and the ability to concentrate on their studies. Entries for the 2026-2027 tuition contest are open now through July 31, 2026, with full contest rules and regulations available on the Algonquin College website.
