Assessing and Preventing Triggers of Responsive Behaviours

Course: HLT8003

Students focus on identification, assessment and prevention of triggers of responsive behaviours in older adults with dementia. Students learn to identify the signs and symptoms that lead to responsive behaviours. By engaging in a variety of practice activities and scenarios, students recognize different types of triggers (e.g., environmental, physical). They learn why, when and how to use different care planning assessment tools and how to engage effectively with family and caregivers.
