Assessing and Preventing Triggers of Responsive Behaviours

The Assessing and Preventing Triggers of Responsive Behaviours micro-credential focuses on identification, assessment and prevention of triggers of responsive behaviours in older adults with dementia. Students will learn to identify the signs and symptoms that lead to responsive behaviours. By engaging in a variety of practice activities and scenarios, students will recognize different types of triggers (e.g., environmental, physical). They will learn why, when and how to use different care planning assessment tools and how to engage effectively with family and caregivers.
