How do I apply to a full-time online program as an international student?

If you live internationally and want to study full-time online without coming to Canada, please review our Steps to Apply.

If you are not a Canadian citizen but have a work permit or visitor visa and live in Canada, you may be eligible to study full-time or part-time online. 

Some programs include mandatory unpaid in-person field placements (check the programs page for more detail). Note if you are in Canada on a work permit or visitor visa you will not be eligible to study full-time in programs requiring placement. 

How do I register for a part-time online course as an international student?

If you have a study permit and are registered full time in an on-campus program, and want to take an additional online course, please review the fees and contact the Registrar’s Office by phone to register.

If you live internationally, or if you have a work permit and live in Canada, and want to study part-time online, please review the fees and contact the Registrar’s Office by phone to register. If you are interested in online course registration and/or part-time online program enrollment, please be aware that you will not be eligible to apply for a study permit.

What are the fees for international studies?

Full-time Online Students

Part-time Online Students

International students who are studying their course from abroad are charged a premium of $400 CAD per part-time course. International students who are studying their course from within Canada are charged a premium of $17.37 per course hour. To calculate this, please find the domestic fees on the course page and either add the $400 CAD premium per course or multiply the course hours by the $17.37 per hour premium, depending on where you reside.

What are the English language requirements for studying at Algonquin College?

The language of instruction at Algonquin College is English. All students admitted to Algonquin College must meet a minimum level of English Language proficiency. Further details regarding English Language Requirements are outlined on our website.
