Having the time to go and take care of the really important things going on at home and still be able to have enough time left in a day to do my homework when I had time is just phenomenal."

Patricia, Valedictorian 2021

Patricia wanted to start a new career and pursued her passion

“I went to university fresh out of high school wanting to do the most successful option, and I got a degree, I worked for the government and it went well for a while. But you know you have this gut instinct when you’re not doing what you’re supposed to be doing what you really wanted to be doing. I felt I didn’t really make the decision to attend university for the right reasons, and although I did graduate and had a great career, I wanted to do something different.

I didn’t know what to expect. I had never done an online course before, but I thought I’d be alone and at my computer doing my own thing – but I was not alone at all. I joined a group of students where we’d go from class to class (online), and we all knew each other really well, the same as you would at a campus. The facilitators were really invested in you, who you are, and on what your goals are or where you’re trying to go with the program. They’d help me steer by steering the material in the direction that would help me most with my goals. You could also email the support staff anytime and they were there or would respond pretty quickly (like the next morning).

It was just a fantastic experience.

Starting over are going to an online program I would say question your concerns and ask about anything you might be worried about so your limitations might not be it’s restricting as you think. Having the time to go and take care of the really important things going on at home and still be able to have enough time left in a day to do my homework when I had time is just phenomenal.”
