Indigenous Geographic is a dedicated organization focused on promoting the awareness and
preservation of Indigenous cultures and storytelling. We collaborate with Indigenous communities and
organizations to foster sustainable practices and empower Indigenous voices.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Office Manager who will be responsible for streamlining our
administrative procedures, office staff supervision, and task delegation. This role is crucial in ensuring that
our office operations are efficient and align with the cultural values and missions of Indigenous
Geographic.
Key Responsibilities:
● Manage daily office operations and provide administrative support to ensure efficiency and
effectiveness within the office.
● Manage office budgets and expenses, prepare financial statements, and ensure that financial
transactions are properly authorized and recorded.
● Organize meetings, schedules, and workflows, and maintain clear communication both within the
office team and with external stakeholders.
● Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulations, particularly those related to
Indigenous rights and environmental standards.
● Facilitate internal and external communications, maintaining a high standard of professionalism
and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
● College degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Management, or a relevant
field.
● Proven experience in an office management role, preferably within a non-profit or
community-oriented organization.
● Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively with a diverse
range of individuals and cultural backgrounds.
● Knowledge of financial and accounting principles.
● Proficiency in office software (e.g., MS Office) and experience with administrative and financial
management systems.
