Job Description
General Accountability:
The Line Worker position is responsible for fully, safely, and effectively participating in the production team to meet daily production targets on the packaging production line.
Specific Responsibilities
• Package shavings into required bags in accordance with specifications and production quotas, while maintaining pace with the automated production line.
• Troubleshoot and address minor issues on the production line.
• Prepare shavings for the production line as required.
• Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and practices. Report hazards, incidents, and concerns to supervision immediately.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times. Perform housekeeping duties during downtime or as directed, including sweeping, tidying, re-palletizing, and proper material storage.
Working Conditions
• Fast-paced production environment
• Repetitive tasks
• Exposure to dust, noise, odours, and varying temperatures
• Standing and walking
• Manual lifting of up to 55 lbs
Qualifications
• Previous packaging experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to regularly lift up to 55 lbs
• Ability to work and communicate effectively in a small team
• Verbal and written communication skills in English
