Apr 03, 2017 |12:00-13:00

LUNCH & LEARN – ANTARCTICA; THE COLDEST PLACE ON EARTH!Ever wonder what it is like to work in the coldest place on earth? For more than six months from August 2010 to February 2011, our Centre for Accessible Learning Technologist, Diana Komejan, worked as a Conservator in the Antarctic. Her work focused on preserving artifacts associated with the preservation of expedition bases of polar explorers, Captain Robert Falcon Scott, Sir Ernest Shackleton, Carsten Borchgrevink, and Sir Edmund Hillary.

Diana will be offering a lunch and learn presentation on her incredible experience on April 3 at 12:00 noon in the Landing. During her talk, she will introduce us to the explorers and the huts they left behind on Antarctica, the work of the Antarctic Heritage Trust, and what her experiences was like. Her presentation will include photographic slides that will literally take your breath away.
