Police Foundations Professionalism Policy

Police Foundations Program Expectations

Law enforcement agencies, including police services are paramilitary organizations, such that there is a defined rank structure and discipline is central to such values as courage, integrity and respect. Discipline also builds character and fosters camaraderie among members, very similar in scope to the military. In addition, members are expected to present themselves professionally, respectfully and appropriately, at all times.
As a Police Foundations student, you represent the field of law enforcement as a whole. You are expected to be courteous, professional and respectful while performing duties associated with our program. At Algonquin College, our program and students are well-regarded by other programs and professors for the high level deportment and the candor that you, our students, consistently maintain.

This basic policy will assist you in developing and maintaining proper deportment, and will help to make your schooling at Algonquin College, a very memorable, safe and enjoyable experience, and will develop skills that will serve you well into your future.
