“Throughout the program I was introduced to skin care and the science behind how it works, and I simply fell in love. I went from covering my flaws with makeup to actually treating them, and I knew I wanted to help others.
After graduation I decided to do things on my own; run a small business STUDIODERMA in Stittsville out of my space, focusing on advanced facials and hair removal. Now I have a loyal and consistent clientele who nominated me for two “Ottawa Community Votes” awards. I won 3rd place for Ottawa Esthetician’s category, and ‘Top Pick’ in the Hair Removal and Waxing category. All I have to thank is my wonderful teachers for always believing in me and giving me an extra push when I needed it.”

Work-Integrated Learning

Gain on-the-job experience applying your skills on real clients at the Salon, Spa and Boutique, Algonquin College`s on-campus, student-run spa facility. During this time, you gain experience and knowledge, and become comfortable providing professional esthetic services to clients.

An emphasis is also placed on developing customer relations skills to help build a strong and loyal customer base.
