CHEO CEO Alex Munter to speak at Algonquin College on May 31

OTTAWA — Algonquin College and the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) are pleased to present the latest instalment of the Future of Health and Wellness Speaker Series on Friday, May 31, 2019.

Alex Munter, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, is the keynote speaker. His discussion will focus on youth mental health.

Munter, who assumed leadership of CHEO in 2011, is well known in the Ottawa community, having served as a City and Regional Councillor in Ottawa from 1991 to 2003.

During Munter’s tenure as a councillor, he gained a reputation for health-related advocacy. He headed council committees that oversaw health and social services. He also led efforts establishing the city’s first smoke-free regulations, promoted the development of child care spaces, and the expansion of public health programs for children and youth.

Join us as we share ideas, spark necessary conversations, and discuss the future of health and wellness in our community.
