Algonquin College learners participating at the Skills Ontario Competition 2026 welcome the support of two lead sponsors and seven additional sponsors

Ottawa, ON (April 23, 2026) – Algonquin College is proud to announce the industry partners who will be sponsoring its team at the Skills Ontario Competition 2026. By defraying costs associated with event registration, travelling, and lodging, the generosity of corporate sponsors removes financial barriers for learners who wish to participate in the Skills Ontario Competition. This support allows learners to focus on what is most important: having a positive, career-building experience at the event.
This year’s edition of the Skills Ontario Competition will take place on May 4–6, 2026, at the Toronto Congress Centre. Algonquin College learners will join their peers from institutions across the province to showcase their talents in a variety of fields in technology and the skilled trades, including architecture, automotive service, cybersecurity, precision machining, and many more. They will also represent Algonquin College as an institution of choice for the hundreds of youth attending and participating in the event from across the province.
This year, the Algonquin College team at the Skills Ontario Competition has two lead corporate sponsors: the Tony Graham Automotive Group and RoJo Construction Management Inc.
The Tony Graham Automotive Group has provided automotive services to generations of drivers in the National Capital Region for nearly 60 years. The group currently includes four establishments in Ottawa: Tony Graham Toyota, the Tony Graham Collision Centre, Tony Graham Lexus, and Kanata Toyota.
RoJo Construction Management Inc. is an Ottawa-based commercial construction management firm delivering projects across Canada. With a portfolio spanning many different types of projects, RoJo brings a hands-on, relationship-driven approach to construction delivery, scheduling, and field operations.
Kyle Pelletier, RoJo’s Vice President, said that his firm was proud to support Algonquin College’s participation in the Skills Ontario Competition 2026. “RoJo understands firsthand the value of applied, skills-based education in building successful careers and thriving communities. As an organization led by Algonquin College alumni, one that completes work for the College and hires Algonquin students, sponsoring the College’s Skills Ontario Competition team only stands to strengthen those bonds.”
Algonquin College is also grateful for the support of seven additional sponsors, many of whom are return sponsors from 2025:
Last year marked the first time there was a large-scale, coordinated effort to engage industry partners as sponsors of the Algonquin College team at the Skills Ontario Competition. As a result, learners felt supported, performed well, and reported that participating in the event had been beneficial to their emerging careers. Many of these learners landed podium places, including three gold medals.
Yet, Katherine Root, Dean of the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence (ACCE), is quick to note that winning isn’t the main objective. “Of course, we’re thrilled when our learners do well and bring home medals. Their high performance validates the strength and relevance of our academic programs. But, much more importantly, we’re proud of every learner who participates because it is a reflection of their professional and personal commitment to excellence. They experience their industry’s best practices, grow their network, and enjoy the collegiality of being part of a team. We’re grateful to all our sponsors, who make these experiences possible for our learners.”
